No, a bridal makeup trial is not required in order to book your wedding day with me. It is suggested, however, because it gives us the chance to meet in person, build a rapport, and gives you the opportunity to communicate how you want to look and feel on your wedding day. It also gives you the chance to wear the makeup "in real life”, see how it feels and wears throughout the day etc and if you'd like to tweak anything for the wedding day, you can let me know.
First and foremost, please have clean, makeup free skin. It is important that I am able to evaluate your natural face in order to choose appropriate products for the application. Also, if you have a wedding mood board, makeup inspiration photos, or even celebrity makeup photos that you love, those are helpful to get us on the same page about how you envision yourself on your wedding day. Lastly, please come with your hair neatly styled and if possible, wearing a white top. These things are important because they help you imagine how you could look on your wedding day.
One week prior, make sure that you are consistent with your skincare regimen by cleansing and moisturizing, day and night. Drink plenty of water. Use a gentle exfoliator on your skin twice a week. Clean up your brow shape by either tweezing, or having them professionally waxed or threaded. Do not use any harsh exfoliants or chemical peels one month before.
